Tediflon – Supra HP
The PTFE material of the future
Tight – Safe – Reliable
After years of research with accompanying development, a new variant of the modified PTFE material is available with the materials of the Tediflon – Supra – HP Group as a new modified PTFE high-performance material.
The materials have been developed in a market-specific manner and take into account the respective requirements of the market segment. The sealing characteristics determined and shown in extensive tests represent the actual area of application of the modified sealing material and not, as is generally the case, the general area of application of the base material PTFE.

Due to the excellent basic material, Tediflon Supra HP is characterized by the highest chemical resistance for all chemicals in the pH range from 0 – 14. (Exceptions: Hydrogen Fluorides, Fluorine Compounds, Melting Alkali Metals)
The new development: multi-directional PTFE material
The new development is a high-quality, multi-directional PTFE material that is produced according to a specially developed manufacturing process and is refined with high-quality fillers.
In its fusion, the special manufacturing process and the high-quality fillers lead to a high-performance material that can be seen as the further development of previously known PTFE materials.
A maximum of technical requirements was taken into account in the development of the material and extensive user experience was introduced. The technology-intensive manufacturing process was optimized so that even the structural structure of the material could be influenced. In addition to the usual parameters considered so far, such as hardness, density and elasticity, other significant criteria were taken into account.
In extensive series of experiments such as transformation infrared spectroscopy, dynamic differential calometry, thermogravimetric analysis, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, as well as mechanical experiments, the material was examined and further developed and adapted to the requirements of the respective market-specific applications.
Ultimately, statements can be presented about
- Quantitative share, quantification of organic and inorganic parts
- Material composition of the fillers
- homogeneity of the material
- Distribution of the fillers
- Purity of the fillers
- Filler structure and geometry
- Processing quality of the base material
- EDX RoHS Analysis
- heat flux behavior
- Weight change under the influence of heat
TA – air tests according to the specifications of the VDI 2440 and VDI 2200:
the TA-Luft tests in accordance with the guidelines of the VDI 2440 and VDI 2200 guidelines with regard to the high quality of a seal, with leakage values of up to 10-7 mbar*l/s*m and a blow-out safety of the highest level, Underline the high quality and verify the own test series of the high-performance material.
Determination of the sealing characteristics according to DIN EN 13555:2014-07:
The sealing parameters determined according to the specifications of DIN EN 13555:2014-07 verify the high quality of the material even with low surface pressures.
food suitability

Food – approval according to
Regulation (EC) No. 1935 / 2004
Regulation (EU) 10 / 2011
FDA – compliant
In the food industry, as in all other industries, there are also rules, guidelines and regulations that must be followed.
The approvals or documents to be observed for the food industry include:
- Framework Regulation (EC) 1935 / 2004
- GMP – Regulation (EC) 2023 / 2006
- Plastics Regulation (EU) No. 10 / 2011
Regulation EC 1935/2004 concerns all food contact materials and makes statements about material requirements as well as restrictions and definitions. In contrast, the EG 2023 / 2006 regulation defines ‘good manufacturing practice’ or ‘good manufacturing practice’.
Manufacturers who produce relevant materials that come into contact with food must prove a quality assurance system.
The EU Regulation 10 / 2011, on the other hand, is a single measure implemented within the EC Regulation 1935 / 2004 and determines which monomers and additives and starting materials may be used for the production of plastics for the food sector.
With this regulation, a direct legally legal European regulation has come into force, which contains a statement about monomers and additives that may be used to produce plastic materials and articles for food contact.
Ultimately, it is manifested with declarations of conformity or declarations of no objection that the corresponding materials are in accordance with the provisions of Regulation (EC) No. 1935 / 2004 and the requirements of other relevant regulations such as (EU) regulations correspond.
Tediflon Supra HP – W
Tediflon Supra HP – W was developed specifically for the applications in the food industry and in the pharmaceutical sector and, in addition to its extremely high sealing ability, is also characterized by excellent adaptation behavior to the flange surfaces. The very low degree of fillers leads to an almost pure, modified PTFE material that meets both the requirements of the FDA and the European food guidelines.

As part of the investigations carried out
- Regulation (EC) No 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2002 establishing the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and establishing procedures for food safety
- Food Consumables and Feed Code (Food and Feed Code of Foodstuffs and Feed Code – LFGB of 22.08.2011 (BGBI IS 1770)
- Commission Regulation (EU) No 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food
it was found that the plate material was unchanged from the experiments.
FDA Conformity
In addition to the specifications listed above, the materials were examined on the basis of the following directive:
- “Law Regarding Trade in Food, Feed, Cosmetic Products and Other Products (LFGB)
and 22th of August 2011 (Bgbi. I p. 1770) (European Foodstaff Law). - US Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 21ff.
With regard to the determined parameters of the Tediflon Supra – HP – material, it can be seen that the material is suitable for contact with food in accordance with FDA standards.
